89 SEO tools, one connection

Every tool below is callable from any MCP-compatible AI assistant — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, custom agents. You don't call them by name; you describe what you want and the AI picks the right one.

This list isn't 89 separate products

Every other SEO tool company on the market sells 89 features as 89 different SaaS products — each with its own dashboard, its own seat licence, its own credit system. The SEO MCP collapses them into one toolkit your AI can reach for whenever a question demands it.

The unit of value isn't a single tool; it's the workflow the AI composes by chaining several of them. The category breakdown below is how the tools are organized, but most useful work crosses categories. A "find content gaps vs. my competitor" workflow uses Labs + SERP + On-Page tools in sequence. A "weekly backlink digest" workflow uses Backlinks + Domain. The AI does that chaining automatically.

Six workflow recipes (copy these prompts)

These are the patterns that demonstrate why a tool list isn't the point — the chained workflow is. Each recipe is one or two prompts; the AI handles the rest.

Competitor research in 3 prompts

"What are the top 5 organic competitors for example.com?"

"For each of those 5, show me the keywords they rank top-3 for that example.com doesn't rank for at all."

"Take the top 20 keyword gaps by search volume and group them into content topics I should target."

Tools called: labs_competitors_domain → labs_domain_intersection (×5) → labs_keyword_overview

Content gap audit in 1 prompt

"For the keyword 'best CRM for small business', show me the top 10 organic results, the People Also Ask questions, and the content topics each top-ranking page covers — then tell me what's missing across the SERP that we could win."

Tools called: serp_google_organic → on_page_content_parsing (×10) → labs_search_intent

Backlink monitoring weekly digest

"Pull new and lost backlinks for example.com over the last 7 days. Flag anything with a spam score > 30 and anything from a referring domain with DR > 50."

Tools called: backlinks_timeseries_new_lost → backlinks_bulk_spam_score → backlinks_bulk_ranks

Local rank scan + reputation check

"Run a 5×5 geo-grid scan for 'plumber Phoenix' centered on 33.4484,-112.0740 and check Bob's Plumbing's Google reviews and rating."

Tools called: local_rank_grid → business_data_google_info → business_data_google_reviews

Technical SEO audit in 2 prompts

"Run a full on-page audit + Lighthouse for example.com/landing-page. Prioritize the findings by traffic impact."

"Now compare the on-page structure to the current #1 ranking page for 'project management software' and tell me what they're doing that we aren't."

Tools called: on_page_instant → on_page_lighthouse → serp_google_organic → on_page_content_parsing

Keyword opportunity sweep

"Show me keywords with monthly volume > 500 and keyword difficulty < 30 that semantically relate to 'invoicing software for contractors'. Include search intent classification."

Tools called: labs_related_keywords → labs_bulk_keyword_difficulty → labs_search_intent

How this compares to traditional SEO platforms

Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz, and SE Ranking are excellent dashboards. They aren't the wrong tool — they're just optimized for a different workflow (visual analysis, manual exploration). The SEO MCP is optimized for conversational workflows. Here's where each model wins:

Workflow Traditional Platform MCP-Based
Deep manual analysis with filters ✓ Dashboard wins Possible but slower
"What changed last week?" digests Manual export + spreadsheets ✓ One prompt
Cross-tool synthesis (e.g., SERP × backlinks × content) Slow — siloed dashboards ✓ Native — AI joins the data
Visual reporting for clients ✓ Built-in dashboards AI generates summaries; pair with a reporting tool
Occasional / on-demand use Pay $99–$999/mo regardless ✓ Pay per use (credits)
Use inside an AI agent Requires API + custom code ✓ Native MCP

Most serious SEOs end up using both — a traditional platform for deep dashboard work and The SEO MCP for daily questions, agent workflows, and anything that needs to happen inside a conversation. The MCP version is dramatically cheaper for the latter, which is most things.

Frequently asked questions

What does 'credit' mean? How does pricing work?

Each tool call deducts credits from your account balance. Most SERP and keyword calls are 2–14 credits; deeper tools (Labs, Backlinks, Lighthouse) are 35–104. Geo-grid is 300 credits for a 5x5 scan (each scan covers an N×N grid of GPS points). Exact cost depends on your plan tier — higher tiers pay less per call. All tier plans include a monthly credit bucket; you can top up at any time. See the pricing page for the full breakdown.

Do I have to call tools by name?

No. You describe what you want in plain language and the AI picks the right tool. You only see tool names if you ask the AI to explain what it called (useful for debugging or learning the toolset).

Can the AI use multiple tools in one answer?

Yes — and it does this constantly. A single user prompt frequently triggers 3–10 tool calls that the AI parallelizes and joins. Most useful SEO workflows are inherently multi-tool.

How fresh is the data? Is anything cached?

Every tool call hits the live data provider. Nothing is cached on our side. You're paying credits to get fresh data — so 'fresh' is the only mode we offer.

Do the same tools work in Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor?

Yes. Because MCP is an open standard, the exact same 89 tools are exposed identically in every MCP-compatible client. You'd connect The SEO MCP once per client, and after that they all see the same toolset.

Can I use these tools in n8n, Make, or my own custom agent?

Yes. Any MCP client works. If you're building a custom agent with the Anthropic SDK, OpenAI Responses API, or LangChain, all of them ship MCP client adapters. Point the adapter at our endpoint and the tools light up.

Are these tools different from what Ahrefs or Semrush show me?

The underlying SERP, backlink, and keyword data comes from professional third-party providers — broadly the same class of data Ahrefs/Semrush use. The difference is the interface: dashboards vs. an AI chat. For workflows that want a visual report, dashboards win; for workflows that want an answer, MCP wins.

Can I see what tools were called for a given answer?

Yes. Most MCP clients show tool calls inline ('Used serp_google_organic, on_page_lighthouse...') and let you click in for the raw input/output. Claude Desktop, Cursor, and Windsurf all surface this clearly.

Ready to connect?
